Young Eagles
Young Eagles Rally's are a more
recent activity sponsored by the EAA and carried out several times each
year by the Loren Hodge EAA Chapter 274. Youngsters from 8 to 17 years
of age, with their parent/guardian permission, can learn about aircraft
and experience flight in our members' experimental and certified
aircraft. There is no cost to participate for this ground and flight
experience that we support to encourage interest in aviation as an
avocation, hobby, and/or profession. Young Eagles Rally's are scheduled
at Decatur, Mattoon-Cole County and Effingham.

Fellowship is a big part of Chapter 274. Monthly meetings are the third
Tuesday of each month at 7:30PM. A typical meeting includes an hour
long program that may consist of members' airplane project report,
recent flying outing, notable speaker or other aviation related
activity, and is followed by refreshments and a chapter business
meeting.
